My old friend Jim Archibald is realizing his passion for Beach Paddle Ball through his new company Malibu Paddle Co. He shapes and constructs the paddles by hand, each piece a work of art. He came to me a couple of weeks ago, asking for a “ferrari” of leather bags to be made to hold the paddles, a couple of balls and a few personal items. We set to work outlining the details on paper, Jim chose the materials he wanted and then I went to work. You’ll see here the process I took to fulfill his order. The bag is stunning, easy to use and rich to the touch.
