These brand new totes are part of an effort that as a designer of leather goods I felt compelled to give a try. These bags are made with our Leather Waves workmanship and design in “leather-like materials”. No real leather is used in this product line for our clients who want an alternative. We have mixed rich thick woven tapestries with faux leather trims and pieces, those pieces are finished with a lace trim. The linings are also done in faux leathers and are very strong and made to last. There is a large zipped pocket in the interior. A great carry all bag. These totes are all available now Off Rack.

This is a simple pouch envelope that we originally designed for men, but that our women clients began to buy. It’s a great simple small purse or a bag that you can use for packing small things inside larger bags. All the bags are lined with tapestries or fanciful satins, zippered closed with an exterior tab to hold, and leather piped edges. We also make this pouch in Leather, Suede, Tapestries and “No Animal (faux) Leather” (look for photos in smooth black or brown paisley). I designed this bag/pouch in “No-Animal leather” as an alternative choice to our Leather version. It is fully lined with recycled denium which gives it weight and body and a masculine flavor, or printed tapestries and satins that are bright and cheerful unique linings. Examples shown are of Finished Black and Paisley Brown and are Available Now and you may also Custom Order in other colors and textures.

Small enough to fit into a women’s small evening bag about 4.5″ X 3.75″ when folded and closed. The Inside features one long open pocket for bills and 6 credit card or license slots, behind the slots are 2 bigger pockets. If preferred you may oder a snapped pocket instead of 3 card slots on one side. The style is tri-fold with velcrow along the top for fastening. The interior is made from a smooth thin calf skin. The exterior is a finished leather, with distinctive grain patterns or various prints on the leather.  There are endless choices of leathers, suedes, and cowhide fur. Many colors and textures to chose from, including some exotics such as Ostrich, Crocodile or Snakeskin which will be priced accordingly per order, availability upon request. This wallet can also feature tapestries or “No-Animal” Leathers only on the outside of Wallet, and can be created to match our Purses and Bags. This women’s suede swing coat style jacket is lined with faux fur in a tiger print. The colors are pale puce with darker shades and black combined in the fur trim. The jacket has a loose hood, cuffed sleeves and a large rolled out lapel which can be pulled together and wrapped one side over the other. The entire garment is cut loose and generously. The pants are an ankle length with a generous leg, fitted at the waist, lined in a satiny fabric and trimmed at the bottom cuff where there is a short slit. The pencil shape skirt is unlined in matching faux fur with a black leather waistband and an exposed zipper up the front. Many colors and variations of fabric combinations are available. Great travel-all purse in “no-animal” leather. About 15″ X 20″ it’s perfect for computer, books, overnite or under airplane seat. Easy to use double zippered top with inner pocket. Beautiful and sturdy tapestry lining. Works for men or women. This is a coat we have made for years. You will see that it can be made with a hood or with a wide shawl collar covered with leather. The coat can be made in Women’s sizes or Men’s sizes. It is a loose fitting and wrap-around style, calf to ankle length. The patterns and colors are based on what is available when you order. Our favorite blanket fabric is made by Pendelton and is a wool blend, but there are many other varieties to use as well. The coat comes with a long wrapping belt that is held in place with belt loops so that it can be worn with or without it. Looks great when hanging open, or wrapped and tied with the belt. This can be a warm coat for cold weather and snow, and is great because it is roomy enough to layer clothing underneath it. Love is so tempting, yes? So I made a red leather Valentines Day dress this year. Interestingly enough it’s actually made from “no-animal” fabrics but I’ve constructed and sewn it in my typical leather working manner. Pieces of printed silk are interspersed on the bodice, hem, and trim along the exposed zipper. The zipper is black metal and finely fabricated with a beautiful matching pull. The red fabric has an exotic lizard leather repeated pattern in the lengthwise direction and is trimmed with a faux smooth black leather. The shape is meant to be sculptural and rounded by the hips, making the drape a bit extreme, yet this also provides a roominess that allows for comfortable wearing. This dress is available now in womens size 6. It can also be made by custom order in a variety of fabrics and in real Leather or Suede as well, prices vary and are available upon request. You will see this jacket already listed but I have come up with a second version of the first, and put them both up for your consideration because they are both great! Same leather, soft lambskin in a medium brown distressed finish. The difference is that this one is more fitted in the body and I did a quilted pocket detail that is very interesting. Some of our clients are vegans and vegetarians who prefer an alternative to wearing real leather. There have been many strides taken in textile industry to create fabrics that look like leather. At Leather Waves it’s always my supreme desire to give my clients exactly what they are looking for, so in 2010 I created a new and additional label called “no-animal”. My goal is to produce my leather designs in an alternative fabric that mimics leather, as an alternative to our awesome leather designs. In these photos see a “no-animal” leather backpack that can also be worn as a shoulderbag. It has a funnel neck that folds over and snaps down. A cell-phone pocket and zippered area as well as interior velcro-ed pockets make this a very organized bag. One of our new pieces, the “No-Animal” Wrap Sweater Jacket. Made from a leather-looking fabric, light as a feather with a soft combed cottony feeling interior is a very dark grey. Wash in cold water and lay out to dry, this piece is a very practical investment. The back of the jacket is shorter and more fitted and as it comes to the front it is very full and long, throw one side up over your shoulder or let it hang loose in front. The style mimicks the very popular wrap style cover-ups in fashion today.
